Haven Connect Project

About this service

This project is a partnership between GVCLC and The Haven youth safe space (an initiative of the Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project).

The project aims to divert young people away from the criminal justice system and to strengthen their connections to the community. It involves a Youth Lawyer and a Youth & Family Worker working together at The Haven to support young people with complex legal and health and social needs, including family support.

The Haven Connect team participates in youth engagement activities, building relationships and trust with young people, and learning about the barriers they face connecting with community, education and employment opportunities, and other factors contributing to offending behaviour.

The project aims to design solutions to these challenges with young people at The Haven and working closely with other stakeholders in the youth justice sector in Shepparton.

The Haven Connect  project is funded by the Victorian Legal Services Board Grants Program.

Who is this service for?
