Our lawyers provide free legal advice and information to the Rumbalara community, operating from the Harmony Centre at Rumbalara between 9am to 1pm every weekday. Our on-site service at Rumbalara is currently closed due to COVID-19, but we are still able to provide assistance to clients over the phone or in-person from our GVCLC office at 1/1 High St Shepparton (enter via Welsford St).
AREAS OF LAW
Our lawyers can assist with a wide range of legal issues, including (but not limited to): family violence, child protection, family law, victims of crime assistance, consumer law, credit and debt issues, tenancy issues and wills and power of attorney. If we can’t help a particular issue, we will explain the legal process to you and help you to find another lawyer who can assist.
Please call us or visit our office to make an appointment, even if you are not sure if it is a legal issue.
CONFLICT CHECKS
Lawyers cannot act for clients in conflict with each other. For example, a family violence victim and their attacker. Or a separating husband and wife. Before we can provide advice, we will undertake a conflict check.
SUPPORT FOR RUMBALARA STAFF / SECONDARY CONSULTATIONS
Our lawyers can also work with Rumbalara staff to help community members but providing information about the law and legal processes, and referral options.
